Miss Elsie Court And Elsie Court Cottage

Elsie Court Cottage was acquired by the Association in 1996 as a result of a generous bequest by Miss Elsie Court, who died in 1989. The family of Miss Court had requested that the bequest, made in 1990, be used to provide something of a capital nature, such as a building, that would be used for the benefit of people with Huntington's Disease and their families.

The Association had a successful working relationship with Lidcombe Hospital for over twenty years and its office was located at Lidcombe Hospital from 1986. However by 1992 the closure of the hospital was being planned, and the Association decided to use the bequest to find appropriate accommodation in a community setting. The cottage now provides the Association's office accommodation and a venue for education, counselling, social and meeting activities.
